Spa Maintenance Made Simple: Easy Weekly Spa Care Guide

Owning a spa should be all about relaxing — not worrying about complicated maintenance. The good news? Keeping your spa water clean and balanced is actually very simple once you know the basics.

Choosing the Right Sanitiser

Sanitiser is what keeps your spa water clean, clear, and safe by eliminating bacteria and contaminants.

At our store, we stock two popular options:

Peroxil (peroxide-based sanitiser)
A great low-odour option that works effectively to keep your water clean while being gentle and easy to manage.

Biguanide sanitiser
Biguanide is a chlorine-free sanitiser that is:

  • Odourless

  • Gentle on skin

  • Ideal for those sensitive to harsher chemicals

It’s a great option if you’re after a more natural-feeling soak without the strong smell often associated with traditional sanitisers.

Getting Started is Easy

Every Sapphire Spa purchased through us comes with a complimentary AquaSpa start-up kit, packed with everything you need to confidently maintain your spa water from day one.

No confusion — just simple, straightforward care.

Your Simple Weekly Spa Routine

Maintaining your spa doesn’t need to be complicated. If you’re using the AquaSpa Chlorine & Bromine Free System, it’s as easy as a 3-step weekly routine:

Step 1: Sanitise

Add AquaSpa Spa Sanitiser

  • 60ml per 1000 litres

  • Once per week

Step 2: Shock

Add AquaSpa Spa Shock

  • 20g per 1000 litres

  • Once per week

Step 3: Clarify

Add AquaSpa Spa Kleer

  • 60ml per 1000 litres

  • Once per week

Don’t Forget Your Water Balance

Alongside your weekly routine, it’s important to:

  • Test your water weekly using test strips

  • Maintain proper pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness levels

This keeps your water comfortable and ensures your sanitiser works effectively.

A Few Simple Tips

  • Run only your filtration pump when adding chemicals

  • Add each product 30 minutes apart

  • After regular use, adding a small amount of shock can help keep your water fresh and clear

Ongoing Care (That’s Still Easy)

Keeping your spa in great condition long-term is just as simple:

  • Drain and refill every 3–6 months, depending on usage

A fresh refill makes balancing your water easier and keeps everything feeling clean and enjoyable.
